when a join invitation is accepted it would be nice to have an easier way to see which user accepted the invitation.

class JoinInvitation(models.Model):
    ...
    accepted_by = models.ForeignKey(User, related_name="invited_via", blank=True, null=True)

   def accept(self):
        ...
        self.accepted_by = new_user
