1.1.0 does not work 0.0.8 does

I can get emojify to work if I use the 0.0.8 version but not 1.1.0. If I lift the code from http://hassankhan.me/emojify.js and deploy it locally it works just fine. Not true for 1.1.0. I noticed this is abandoned so I am just putting this here for others.

Also can someone please provide a working example of the usage of the replacer behaviour with a fully written callback function? I can't for the life of me understand what he means. It's likely that since I am using 0.0.8 this functionality doesn't work.

I noticed that if I get the 1.1.0 from the cdnjs link in the README.md file it works just fine.
