Hi,
I want to package jmc2obj for nixpkgs.
However, I need to put the software license to achieve this.
Can you please add a license to the project?

Thanks

It's a good question, I'm not actually sure what license it's supposed to be. I think it's GPL2, @danijel3 might know for sure?

Problem solved!

I do remember having this discussion over 12 years ago after we initially launched the project, but can't find it anywhere. I originally proposed GPL on a whim, but got push back from people so opted for something more lenient. I think Apache will do fine.

I noticed actually some files have the GPL2 © header

 * Copyright (c) 2012
 * All rights reserved. This program and the accompanying materials
 * are made available under the terms of the GNU Public License v2.0
 * which accompanies this distribution, and is available at
 * http://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2.0.html

If we're gonna put apache on it then probably should remove that?

Actually, you're right.

I found the license file here: https://github.com/jmc2obj/j-mc-2-obj/blob/master/conf/license.txt

I guess the change didn't really get through, after all.

I'm afraid it would be kinda weird to change the license terms so late in the game, with so many versions of the program in GPL, I'd rather leave it as is.
