I have a Briggs and Stratton PP20. This morning was about -25C and when called it failed to start multiple times (6) before entering a failed state. I reset it, and it failed again the 6 times with a few "nearly" starts. I reset it, and this time it started but stopped with "Low Idle Speed or Low Engine Speed"...after 2 resets of this, SUCCESS .... just so bloody cold... and this after just having a new stator put in yesterday. To reset each time I'd need to turn the generator OFF/ON or pull the fuse and reinsert it (the alarms can be cleared with a physical Up/Down push too but this isn't remotely controllable).

I'd like to be able to handle this remotely because this generator is about 300 KMs away. To that end I'd like to:

1. add a relay to the PI I'm using.
2. connect the relay inline (NC) with the switch
3. initially operate the relay directly via the PI
4. eventually add a button to the maintenance page of GENMON to "power-cycle" (5-10 seconds) the generator.

Questions:
does anyone know, or is able to, measure the voltage to gnd from the switch when in the OFF and ON position (assuming OFF it's 0) @marklitwin, anyone ?
