I'm having this issue when enabling the JEST extension even when I'm not on a test file. To solve it I just disabled it, but I wonder if there's another solution

This is quite strange, especially for non-test files. What does it say when you hover over the red lines? When you look at the "PROBLEMS" tab, did you see any jest errors there?

This is certainly not a normal use case and would require a sample repo to repro and investigate further... any chance you have one?
