I'm not sure whether XKCD contains any backticks, but perhaps one could be created by an AI trying to match the style of the font (or in MS Paint)?

I don't know how busy he is but I feel like someone could email Randall and ask him to draw a single backtick to use in the font? The idea of asking someone to draw one (1) tiny character is also funny to me

Sorry, no backticks anywhere induvidually, but I do have a similar-looking diacritic here.
