1. What is your project? (max 100 words)

Imagine that there is a platform where you can champion an action, solicit funds and undertake actions to help reduce carbon footprints in a particular society. Well that's exactly what Sustain is for, making sure individuals can undertake actions to help save our world. While others contribute funds to an action, they will be able to know the amount of carbon they are offsetting in that locality the action will be taken in.
With Sustain:

  1. And individual can champion an action in society.
  2. Upload the action on the platform by specifying the amount of carbon they want to offset.
  3. Receive funds from other individuals who will help reduce carbon footprints in that locales.
  4. Undertake the action.
Please note: add XDC testnet to metamask to be able to perform an activity on the platform.
All media are stored on IPFS.

2. How will IPFS, Filecoin, or related technology be used for this project? (max 100 words)

we stored the project metadata, such as name, country, description, latitude, longitude, target carbon offset, and image content on FVM. The FVM storage solution assure data availability, redundancy, and resilience while reducing our dependence on centralized storage providers.

3. How will you improve your project with this grant? What steps will you take to meet this objective? (max 200 words)

We intend to take this project to the public domain to serve it's purpose in the next 2 months. We are looking for possible ways we can verify the credibility of sustainable actors.

4. Is this project open source?

yes

5. Do you agree to share grant reports upon request, including a final grant report at the end of the three month period?

yes

6. Does your proposal comply with our Community Code of Conduct?

yes

7. Links and submissions

Hi @mendsalbert, thanks for applying!

Unfortunately this project does not leverage what’s unique to Filecoin’s new EVM enough for an FVM Microgrant. There is also not much of a milestone-based technical roadmap discussed in your proposal. Here are some things we’d like to see:

  • Interesting use of Filecoin’s EVM, especially with respect to what’s unique to Filecoin (for example, via exploration of the Filecoin Solidity API, FVM use cases, or Bacalhau x FVM, etc.)
  • A fully working user-facing demo with nice UX that anyone can easily use.
  • Is deployed to a Filecoin testnet, so that we can see all the functionality working on a Filecoin testnet, and will be deployed to Filecoin mainnet in a production-ready state on project completion.
