Ideas so far:

  • Public rooms free. Private rooms paid.
  • Everything free. Custom installations paid. Premium support paid.
  • Sponsorship publicity
  • Prioritised development contracts

As much as possible I would like to keep the open and paid version equivalent in features. I understand that with advanced features such as content analysis and/or storage, this might be difficult. But I also dislike businesses that cripple the free usage version to create a paid migration path. In the end people should pay for the quality of service, support and privacy. Not for functionality. Functionality should either be developed by the community or through sponsorship.

Maybe few more ideas:

  • donations from communities (not real paid option but more like Support us button)
  • fee for developers/companies that would use it for commercial use (built in their app) or for companies (making money with it - but this goes under private rooms)
  • freemium (member has monthly limit of i.e. 100min video or community has all together monthly limit of 10.000min and then community can pay or they "charge" all members with like 0.50$)
