Hi, is it feasible to implement nested class="step" elements to create zoom-in effect without duplication? I think this would be a cool enhancement.

Do you mean the white background with duplication? That's defined for the slide class. Simply remove it. If I get you right, you can simply do something like the step with id="overview", an empty or hidden step. The only problem would be setting only the parent step to opacity: 1;, to do that generally is impossible with CSS3.
