As many of you know, we're trying to obtain a permanent space here in Honolulu. As a makerspace, our goal is to share our creative talents and ideas in both physical and non-physical aspects in a place where we feel comfortable. Whether it's creating a tweeting robot, building a web app that displays real time tidal statistics, or just learning from people who are doing these projects, we want to provide a great social setting for all members.

Hello everybody! We're always trying to move the HI Capacity forward. Most people don't really see the business behind it but we're trying to change that. We're going to keep you up to date on our progress more in the future. We are writing business plans and projections. We're determining the best price point for membership and looking at generating revenue from other sources. We're also looking to get capital to start the space.

HI Capacity has been steam rolling along in attempts to find and unite the 'makers' and 'creators' on island. Ultimately, our goal is to have a self-sustaining Makerspace in Honolulu, funded primarily through it's members via a tiered membership. Startup Weekend Honolulu was a blast. Over a 54 hour period we designed, developed and launched a (mostly) working website! I worked on
HeartMyCity, we help people submit reports about their city, such as potholes, grafiti, and trash so that the city or other community members can fix it. It was a blast working with my team members Burt Lum (
@bytemarks) and Patrick Kelly (
@phlatphrog) and I'm proud to report that we actually came in 2nd place! Over the weekend Patrick and I developed a functioning Android App and website while Burt worked on the business side of things.

Hello everyone! If you haven't already noticed the site has receieved a facelift. We originally launched the previous version of the site back in late 2011. The look and feel hadn't changed much since then. The site became old and boring and we felt it was time for a change. The goal of this version of the site was to minimize the amount of images being used. The old version would load badly on slower connections due to having too many background textures and other images.

Hey everyone, this is just a quick note that the BoxJelly will be shutting down today (Thursday Aug, 7th) at 2pm. They will be closed until Sunday and will provide another update on Sunday as to what will be happening next week. Check for updates on their [Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/BoxJelly). This also means that HICapacity will be closed and will not reopen until the BoxJelly does. If you need anything from the space please retrieve it before 2pm today. Please note that equipment and boxes have been moved off the floor because of flooding concerns. You will not be able to work in the HICap area as all desk and table surfaces are now covered in equipment.

Hey everyone, if you don't already know, we're moving to the __Manoa Innovation Center__! We're sorry for not officially announcing it sooner, but we wanted to make sure we were further along in the process before announcing it. While we are moving this weekend, we cannot officially open at MIC until a few more things come through. MIC is allowing us to borrow the key this weekend to start storing stuff in our new space. We must vacate our current space at the BoxJelly by the 15th at the very latest, but we really want to be fully moved out by the 1st. Hello everybody! We're always trying to move the HI Capacity forward. Most people don't really see the business behind it but we're trying to change that. We're going to keep you up to date on our progress more in the future. We are writing business plans and projections. We're determining the best price point for membership and looking at generating revenue from other sources. We're also looking to get capital to start the space.
