On regular motioneye when you set the camera rate at 2, you get about 1.9, according to my experiment, but on motioneye addin for home assistant, it shows up at about 7-10 querys per second at that capture link. Shutting off the streaming feature seems to increase it a little, and shutting off the home assistant display of the cameras does not seem to affect it, and no video recording, no still images, and no motion detection.

I got this link
https://github.com/motioneye-project/motioneye/blob/main/motioneye/handlers/picture.py
which is the current regular motioneye code, I think?, but looking for the motioneye addon code, to see if I can find the issue.
