Current situation

Currently, Database Automatic User Provisioning only supports the teleport username:

With automatic user provisioning, users always connect to the database with their Teleport username so the db_users role field is ignored for roles that have database user provisioning enabled.

What would you like Teleport to do?

Allow for creation of arbitrary users if the DB user is allowed by Teleport user's RBAC

What problem does this solve?

Allows for more customer use-cases

If a workaround exists, please include it
