Report download fails when .zip file is large #1137
Comments
Hi @duncangreene , I have tested with the provided report and it worked fine. The 'Run time of job' logs are not related to the zip creation. |
@MariusBaldovin @jboddey Potentially unrelated to the large .zip file size issue above, but having upgraded my evaluation machine from 2.1 to 2.1.1, I am now getting the above behaviour whenever I try to download any .zip file, as shown in below video. 52f60eda-ac05-4ab1-bc19-ccc2718f58ca.mp4 |
@duncangreene Clear the browser cache. You can also try to use a different browser. If you are still facing issues uninstall, prune and reinstall Testrun. |
@MariusBaldovin in the video you can see that the 'Testrun is not responding' message appears in the UI before the highlighted To prove this, how can we override/increase the FE/BE timeout? |
@duncangreene I have tested this and indeed the timeout is triggered on the FE during a large zip archive creation. The zip archive is successfully created in the temp folder but due to the FE timeout it is not being added to the Downloads folder. You can find the zip archive that was created into the /tmp/testrun/ folder |
@MariusBaldovin please can a fix be put in place to remedy this? Large .zip files and/or the use of slightly more constrained hardware (that take 'longer' to generate .zip files) shouldn't affect (i.e. break) the .zip file download functionality? |
Describe the bug
If the .zip file for a report is large (witnessed on 8MB and 95MB file sizes), the download link from the UI fails and "Testrun is not responding" pops up at the bottom. I can seek to supply screenshots of the GUI if required (machine is elsewhere currently).
Separately, the Testrun stdout shows similar to the below sometime after clicking to download .zip.
Expected behavior
The .zip file downloads.
Error logs
An example large file below.

Environment (please provide the following information about your setup):
Additional context
The size of the gateway.pcap appeared to be the major contributor to large file sizes.
