Hi,
Is a native comments feature/plugin is planned ?

Disqus service may no suit all users :

  • privacy issues for the users (why do I have to send my IP to an other service if I just want to interact with this website ?) ;
  • the comments are not hosted on the website (dependencies are not a great gift on the web) ;
  • registration that may keep readers away from commenting.

Actually I really don't want to create a debate about disqus, but just say that "comments stored in grav database" may interest some «old school» users :)

Hi,
I would like that feature too.
An option for every site to activate or deactivate it would be nice.

It would be quite possible to do a native comment system when we release our "Forms" plugin. However, we are planning on making this plugin a premium plugin with a nominal fee per-site cost. Just FYI.

Yeah, no problem, this is even comforting to know you have a buisness model, so as user we have an easy way to support the project and be sure it will keep living :).

To have an idea, what could be the range of the fee ? Like 20$ or 50 and more ?

Nothing is certain but I would imagine in the $20-$40 range per-site.
