How difficult would it be to add an expression pedal or 2? vol + wah? how about just extra input jacks to plug in a external expression or momentary pedals?
I like the idea of it being compact and modular but having interfaces/ports to add additional boards (like chaining several together) and/or having extra pedal/control inputs. Maybe this is beyond the scope but future expandability appeals to me.. like the Unix Philosopy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_philosophy
Also USB MIDI to PC fo sho!

It should be quite easy as I know. I have plants to introduce "mods" section. Idea is to keep in main only the code that don't need any hardware changes. Other branches will contain code that requires hardware changes. Organization like this will allow me to modify base concept in every possible way.
USB MIDI is not possible in Arduino Nano, but I found the workaround/solution. Since aa1eb0e you can connect arduino via usb to your computer and additional software like https://projectgus.github.io/hairless-midiserial/ will translate serial messages into MIDI.
