Add instructions to add and commit initial files

Developers miss this step and wonder why they can't switch branches, or worse, force switch branches and end up with no master. If they push to github in this state, they may unintentionally make a feature branch the default branch on GitHub, and if they don't notice it, folks viewing their portfolios may think they never finished the project.
