Just curious on the status of symlinks. Does ZPAQ not store these? I was told by someone that symlinks weren't saved and I didn't even notice it, partly being that a lot of data I've backup up had no symlinks.

I'm a noob when it comes to especially this tool, however I'm always using it anyway for all of my backup/compression needs so props for continuing ZPAQ .

Did I just happen to miss a flag that'll enable them?

zpaq (and zpaqfranz) do not store symlinks
Inside the latest versions of zpaqfranz I had started to give this support, basically replicating all the functionality of tar (also with reference to users etc)
The "package" to do this exists (now), you can enable it with highway hashes
This will NOT store symlinks, but will use an internal format that could

Since I had no pressing requests to do so, and since I do not need it for work, I did not proceed

I would like to plus 1 this request.

Since zpaqfranz aims at improving original zpaq archiver, this feature would be highly desirable for creating archives on Unix systems where symlinks are present practically everywhere.
