Cant open X display

When I change the config of ly it doesn't change and Can't open X display show. I use git version on Debian

I am using awesome wm debian 12 , I changed the etc one that is referred to it in the github page and when I type ly in the terminal my configuration is applied but when i enter in the login the configuration is not applied and the background is 100%black(not like the one in the ly default bg ) and in the password section says Cant open X display but I can enter my password. I will see if i get any logs of X but i dont think
