Notification counter in header is easily confused with plus button #8220

I'm finding I'm constantly doing a double take when I glance at the room list due to confusing the + button with the a new notification count. This is particularly problematic for me as I always have the Peoples section collapsed, so rely on that notification counter to inform me when I get a DM.
