It was typo on my side. I had something similar to:
namespace com.mycompany.type
version 1.0.0
enumm NewEnum {
}
There is one "m" more in "enum". This definition generates NullPointerException in the error log. I played with some more examples like a missing version and missing namespace and I got the same fail. I think that the compiler error is enough in this case and we should not have this exception:
