dwyl asks dwylers to adhere to the conditions below when booking holiday.
This is so we have adequate notice in order to ensure projects aren't affected.
dwylers on payroll have a set number of paid holiday days to take in a year, according to their contracts. They can also take unpaid leave, by arrangement.
Freelance dwylers can take as many (unpaid) breaks from projects as they like, as long as the conditions below are followed.
- To provide 10 working days of notice prior to taking up to 5 working days off
- To provide 15 working days of notice prior to taking more than 5 working days off
If you know your holiday will fall in the middle of a busy period, we'd really appreciate as much notice as possible 😊
dwyl has two systems for booking holiday - Xero
for payroll dwylers which links into payroll, and Hr.my
for freelance dwylers (because it's open-source and free)

Get login details for Hr.my from your friendly

We manage holidays and payroll using Xero so people get their remaining holiday balance along with their payslips. All payroll dwylers have a login.
As above, payroll dwylers have a set number of annual leave days which they can supplement by arranging unpaid leave on top of that.
We ask that dwylers try to keep on top of their holiday allowances (your balance is available in Xero and on your payslip) and book the right holiday type, splitting requests into two if necessary.
For example, if you want to book five days off but you only have two days of your allocation remaining, you should book two days of holiday
and three days of unpaid leave
- Log in to Xero.
- Click on
New time off request
- Select "Holiday" or "Unpaid leave" from the dropdown
- Fill in the form by selecting your manager, and adding 8 hrs per day of holiday. (If you're taking half days, that's 4 hrs)
- That's it! You'll see the screen below, and you'll be notified when your holiday has been approved 😎 🏄 🎿
