Connecting to Gihub via ssh prevents being required to login very often when using git commands.
- Open Terminal.
- Paste the text below, substituting in your GitHub email address.
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -C "[email protected]"
- For all prompts simply press enter to set default values.
- Run
eval "$(ssh-agent -s)"
in your terminal to start the ssh-agent in the background. It will use very few resources. - Run
ssh-add ~/.ssh/id_ed25519
to add your private key to the ssh agent.
