Retroarch emulators get little to no improvement when increasing GPU Clock up to 333mhz from the base 166mhz but setting it to 500mhz CPU clock will make games like Secret of Mana, Super Metroid (snes9x-2005 plus) and FBA and GBA titles run at a stable 60fps. It would probably help conserve battery if the GPU remained at stock speed while only beefing up the CPU.
