.NET MAUI 7 and 8 Servicing updates

.NET MAUI is serviced on the .NET monthly cadence. The focus areas for these releases is:

• Issues impacting Xamarin.Forms upgrades to .NET MAUI
• CollectionView
• Layout

Issues are prioritized by usage across feature areas and platforms, by severity, and by opportunity.

.NET 9 (November 2023 - November 2024)

The .NET MAUI theme for the .NET 9 release is improved product quality across layout, control features, and reliability of tooling experiences such as setup, build, deploy, hot reload, debug, and diagnostics.

Additions:

• New Input Keyboards
• Android 15 Beta 1 Support
• Native AOT for iOS & Mac Catalyst
• Multi-target versions of .NET for iOS bindings
• Android Asset Packs

Work items under consideration:

• Swift Interop
• Custom cursors
• Move remainder of controls into Maui.Core layer for performance and stability
• Shell improvements
