Something like:

ss.Set<JsonEntityBasic>()
.GroupBy(x => x.OwnedReferenceRoot.OwnedReferenceBranch.Enum)
.Select(g => g.OrderBy(x => x.OwnedReferenceRoot.Number).FirstOrDefault())

this should work since OwnedReferenceRoot.Number doesn't need nav expansion, just JSON_VALUE call
