More info in 2015 that entry "Super-Charge Your AWS Command-Line Experience with aws-shell" - AWS Developer tools blog entry.

"We are excited and grateful to join forces with Donne and bring him on board as one of the maintainers of the aws-shell project."

AWS shell can be found here as an aws lab repo.

Interesting, cause aws-shell also looks abandoned: awslabs/aws-shell#266

I just ran into some install woes on MacOS, it's a shame because this tool was really awesome! I don't want to have to go back to bash completions 😞

There was aws-shell as well, but seems it didn't take off:
