Description

Files that are edited outside of Docker (from the host) are truncated by the added text from the end. If I perform the same editing operation inside Docker, everything is fine. It's as if the file has a fixed length and doesn't want to expand.
If I create a new file from the host, the file still has zero length, even though I create some content on the host.

Reproduce

  1. file xxx.txt contain:

111
222
END

  1. I add 000 in the host to begin of the file, result is:

000
111
222

I downgrade to 4.32.0. This version works without any problem.

Hi,
the bug has been identified and solved.
However the fix will not land in 4.35 but in 4.36 (exact date to be defined but roughly in ~ 4 weeks).

In the mean time, 4.32.0 can be a valid work-around.

Thank you for the report.
