Just a quick note to say thanks to everyone for the Crouton project. It took a bit of finagling, but I was able to install a base xfce4 Debian buster system with one command (once Crouton was installed):
sudo crouton -r buster -e -t xfce
and answering a few questions.
This was on a Samsung Chromebook 2 XE303C12.
One thing I did notice is that if I try to upgrade this chroot from the core target for buster by upgrading target-by-target, the target xfce4-desktop caused problems. I happened to watch the end of the process and it looked like the exynos video driver was being removed as part of updating libgl.
If there is interest, I will redo that upgrade and post the installation logs.
