messenger images don't show in finch

Hi, I am using the plugin with Finch and whenever a contact "friend" sends me a picture to see nothing, just a blank line. How much work is involved to implement a feature to show links to pictures sent by contacts and pipe to some external program using a mailcap file like neomutt does?

I have a different experience.
I do see the pictures, but sometimes I get nothing.

If one implement showing the pictures using an external program, that needs to have a configurable option to disable. I really don't want an image viewer randomly popping up just because someone sends me pictures on facebook. :-)

Oh, and I use the plugin with Pidgin.
That may be the difference.

Yes I'm strictly talking about Finch. Any about the external viewer, you pipe it using a command, like ctrl+v etc.
