Syntax Highlighting not working with VS Code Update #24

A recent update to Visual Studio Code 1.42.1 seems to have broken syntax highlighting.

VS Code detects the file type.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the extension did not help.

Can you be more specific as to what is breaking? I am also using the latest vscode build v1.7.2 but am having syntax highlighting functioning.
