Reminder: remove empty lines before doctype declaration

empty lines before the doctype declaration causing trouble in some Browsers (especially IE does crazy stuff like going into quirks / compatibility mode)

Thanks for the heads up. I'm embarrassed—or proud?—to say that I haven't done any IE testing, but I'll try and get to that soon, at which time I'll ditch the empty lines.
