📃 Iteration 25 roadmap 📃

This post outlines our goals for the upcoming iteration. The goal is to provide a summary of where are we going.

New Features

• Word count plugin – 🎉 Merged to master.
• Text transformation – Transforming textual "..." into "…" (ellipsis character), "---" into "—" etc. - 🎉 Merged to master branch.
• Document colors – The font and background color option will get a list of colors already used in the document - 🎉 Merged to master branch.
• Block indent - 🎉 Merged to master branch.
• An option to open links in a new tab - 🎉 Merged to master branch.
• Base64 adapter upload – An adapter to allow inlining uploaded images as base64-encoded code - 🎉 Merged to master branch.
• Editor watchdog - Feature allowing to restart editor with preventing data loss in case of an error. 🎉 Merged to master branch.

Collaborative Features

• Enabling the track changes feature in real-time collaborative editing.
• Introducing a narrow sidebar, the third display mode for comments and suggestions (besides the regular sidebar and inline balloons). In this mode, the user will see only small icons in the sidebar, with collapsed comments.

We are also going to work on RTL, although it is a longer task and will most likely land in iteration 26, as the 25th iteration is a short one.

There are more minor issues planned for iteration 25. See the list of issues assigned to the current iteration for more details.

Code freeze is planned to happen between the 1st and 3rd of July, followed by releasing npm packages on the 4th of July.

Official social followup is planned between 16th and 18th of July.

Please keep in mind that these plans are subject to change and even though we put all our energy to deliver all the items mentioned above, the iteration plan may change at any point.

Iteration 25th resulted with releasing 12.3.0 and a quick patch 12.3.1 (focused on a hotfix to text transformation) version.

New version is already available on npm.
