not any more available dependenency is blocking all installs #3227
Comments
What happens if you run |
It pretends to install - but but nothing happens, keepass package was already installed. |
I am talking about the |
Me as well. I try to write my short sentence in a longer variant.
Btw: I fixed it by removing any reference to keepass.install and keepass from any where as well as deleting the files of keepass, then installing keepass manually |
Happy to hear that you were able to resolve this issue!
Would you be able to elaborate on exactly what you did here, as I am not sure that I follow. It would be great to see the chocolatey.log (assuming that you still have it) from this command:
As I am also not sure I understand what you mean by this. |
I was having this error with nodejs blocking itself during an upgrade.
|
Just failed to install on a fairly new Win11 system. What could I try to do to solve it?
|
^ this was part of a node install, but node actually seems to be working ok... |
@gravitiq-cm
Can you reinstall it? |
Same issue here. When I try to upgrade all ( When trying to install/update When trying to install pathon, I get a dependancy error about some KB-packaged an ANd like @gep13 I do not understand how @BananaAcid and @aetonsi solved this issue for themselves. 🤔 |
I think I solved it for me. I removed (not really uninstalled) choco uninstall keepass.install -n --skipautouninstaller --force I also reinstalled
I now have trouble reinstalling |
yes that's what i did, i removed anything that caused the issue, also checking if the removal really occurred, and in my case, with nodejs, it did not, so i uninstalled via control panel and cleaned up with BCUninstaller. in the end i reinstalled anything i needed. |
That will be a package issue, most likely. Not a Chocolatey CLI one. |
yes yes i know, it was the first time it had happened to me, that a package got uninstalled without any error but the software did not |
i'm back at it again, and this time i don't know what i can do.... maybe it's just a package problem, i don't know.
|
@aetonsi I looked at this issue last night, but I wasn't in a position to reply to it, but I can now. I suspect that the issue that you were seeing is due to the 8.5.6 package version of the notepadplusplus package being unapproved, while the 8.5.6 package version of notepadplusplus.install being approved. i.e. there was a mismatch between the required dependency between the two packages. This problem came down to the fact that the notepadplusplus package had failed the package-verifier. Last night, @TheCakeIsNaOH set the package-verifier to re-run on that package, and it has now been approved. If you could test again and let us know if you are still seeing the problem. Thanks! |
@gep13 update fine now. Thanks! |
Checklist
What You Are Seeing?
Upgrading or installing any package is not possible due to dependency (keepass.install) of a single other package (keepass) is blocking everything. Manually installing that missing package did not help. Reinstalling the specific package (keepass) with
--ignore-dependencies
did not fix.this could be related to
issues/3226
What is Expected?
The package is not even installed and all other installations fail due to this unrelated package.
How Did You Get This To Happen?
I really don't know, how that package got missing.
Otherwise just upgrade all to trigger.
