There is an EXE installer and portable ZIP archive available at the download page.

Note: we don't provide .zip for Windows anymore (we don't see any value in it until we want to do an actually portable version).

However, there is (maybe temporary) .msi with deployment tool from Squirrel.

We might go to classic MSI (like wix) if we find the one with Squirrel unusable in some cases.

The code and releases are in separate repositories

This is not entirely correct. All the releases are pushed to nextcloud-releases. See tagged commits, for example: https://github.com/nextcloud-releases/talk-desktop/tree/v1.0.0-rc.2. Also, GitHub releases include source code as Source code (zip) in assets.

Thank you for clarification. I had hoped that additional information would be useful for potential maintainers.
Fixed now.

Note: this is still the same squirrel inside msi and "experimental" as mentioned in the README.

We decided to move to a classic (wix) instead of Squirrel for MSI. It will be available this month.
