Summary
When I choose a vendor from the Vendor filter list on the left side of ubuntu.com/certified the filter is cleared once the list is collapsed.
I noticed this yesterday while I was trying to filter the server listings ubuntu.com/certified/servers. The Category filter had "Server" checked, the Release filter had 22.04 checked, and I expanded "Vendor" and selected "Supermicro" to only see 22.04 certified Supermirco servers. But next I wanted to see only 20.04 servers from Supermicro, so I changed the Release filter to only have 20.04 checked but this time I got all 20.04 certs. Turns out that the Supermicro filter had been cleared out as soon as I clicked the apply button previously.
So today I rechecked this by expanding the filter, selecting Supermicro, collapsing the list (clicking the "show fewer" link), then expanding it again and discovered that the filter was cleared again.
Thinking it was just the hidden options, I repeated this by selecting Dell from the expanded vendor list (which is always visible as it's the top of the list), collapsing the list, and observing that even then, the Dell vendor filter becomes cleared as well.
I repeated this again by selecting three random vendors, and finally once more by clicking on ALL vendors in the list, and every time, the list was cleared when I collapsed the list by clicking "Show fewer"
I did find one weird thing by accident... if I have entered a string in the search bar, for some reason the vendor filter list does NOT get cleared when collapsed or when applied. It was bizarre. I had "Lenovo" in that search bar (can're recall why) and forgot it was typed in, went through the steps above (selected 22.04, then expanded the vendor list and selected Supermicro, then clicked Apply) and got the "No Results" page, which makes sense because there are no Supermicro Lenovo servers, BUT I also noticed that when I expanded the list, Supermicro was still checked.
Process
Go to ubuntu.com/certified/servers
on the left, expand the filter list for Vendors
Select a vendor or multiple vendors from the filter list
Collapse the list by clicking "Show Fewer"
Expand the list again and note that the previous selection has been cleared.
Alternatively
Start at step 3 above
Click APPLY to get your results
expand the filter list
Note that the vendor filter list is cleared
Current and expected result
Current: There are cases where the filter is cleared once Apply is clicked or the list is collapsed.
Expected:
When filters are selected, they appear at the top of the list of filters so users are aware and can clear them as needed
when the filter list is collapsed, the filter is not cleared
