According to https://github.com/premake/premake-core/releases this is still in beta.

Also, I haven't been able to properly build it from source yet.

Don't get fooled by the name! Premake5 has been in beta for ages, but it's working fine. I suggest you to build from the master branch of their git repository instead of that beta2 release. There are a ton of bug fixes and improvements!

I noticed last Monday, but it still doesn't build properly.
I need to figure out how to build it using already installed libraries (in particular libcurl).
