There are some tasks (i. e. the datadog agent) that will attempt to query the introspection server created by the ecs-agent. This introspection server isn't accessible in tasks running in Bottlerocket, since we only bind the server to the loopback IP address. We need to make the introspection server available to ECS tasks so that processes like the datadog agent can query the server.
Any alternatives you've considered:
Run tasks using the host's network namespace, but that's something ECS doesn't recommend.
