Just keeping an update here of the topics I've cursorily looked into, so far. Add to misconceptions.json file in shared file for topics that I've researched
box plots (research done)
measures of center (research done)
histograms (research done)
variability (we don't have a lessson on this, but I hope we will; I kept encountering it while researching other topics)
regression
models in general
exponential
logarithmic
probability
standard deviation (started; didn't read much on this)
categorical v quantitative
scatterplots
correlations
functions
word problems
composing table operations
quadratics
I was kind of working my way through DS lesson topics.
This document is where I organized / took note of misconceptions that I encountered repeatedly in the literature. Warning - it's not comprehensive; includes lots of quotes and the occasional screenshot.
This folder contains PDFs of all of the articles I scanned that found worthwhile.
Also noting that when I explicitly sought ought misconceptions about measures of center, I didn't find much worthwhile; that said, lots of misconceptions emerge when students are asked to determine measures of center from various other plots. I don't think we're doing enough of this - asking students to identify / discuss measures of center by looking at various data displays.

@flannery-denny - FWIW, this is about 3.5 hours of work.
