[Support]: tmp cache is filling up making system unusable #9971

Describe the problem you are having

I am running frigate in a docker container in LXC in ProxMox. I have observed twice now that the tmp cache is growing and when it maxes it it makes the system completely unusable and my only option is to kill the container, cleanup the files, and restart.

if a request is made especially for a long standing event this can cause a large amount of /tmp/cache to be used.

when you view a clip in the UI it does not create a file there. Those files get created when you pull from the api, usually from notifications

because if your internet speed is slow (like on a phone) it might take longer than 1 minute to download the video. Also, if a notification is send to multiple devices sometimes they don't request it at the exact same time.

it is not configurable and to be honest I don't think the option will be made. In the next version of frigate there will be a new gif api that I figure most users will use since it won't take up any /tmp/cache and will be sufficient for "what happened?"
