Show a disk symbol on the save button in jtx Board

Currently, the Save buttons (bottom center and top right) and the Done Complete button (next to the progress bar) both have a checkmark or checkbox icon, which is confusing.

A disk symbol might make it clearer which is Save and which is Complete.

Also, I'm not sure, but the floating action button at the bottom might be better for Save instead of Done? It seems to me that saving is something done more frequently, especially in edit mode (since Completed might be set more frequently from the lists). This is also more in line with the edit button in the same place.

(edit: I removed the above because it was a misunderstanding of the different Save and Complete buttons: the bottom center button actually is a Save button, not a Complete button. I also rephrased "Done" to "Complete" to better differentiate between the two features.)

I'm a bit confused, so just for clarification:
When you are talking about the "Done" button, do you mean the bottom right action on the keyboard? Or do you mean something else?

I get it that it is not so consistent (I actually haven't paid attention to this detail). The keyboard would take whatever symbol is used for the keyboard done action in the users specific keyboard, so it might not be a check sign on every device.
For the save button in jtx Board: the standard material design icons would have a floppy disk, which I find a bit ugly and outdated... But it might make things clearer... What do you think?

I got confused actually, misunderstanding several UI buttons. I updated the original post for clarity.

There's three checkmark/checkbox buttons on the edit page: two checkmarks in the top right and in the bottom center (both of which save changes) and an empty checkbox next to the progress bar (which sets the task to Done).

I missed the empty checkbox next to the progress bar and thought the other two did different things, probably got confused between the View and Edit modes (compare #64).

It seems like a problem with the modern iconography for saving. I agree that the disk icon is ugly and outdated, but the rationale to use a checkmark is I'm done editing this record, which in task apps is extremely ambiguous with the I've finished this task functionality. So while not as pretty, I think in the task context, a disk icon is better suited for saving than a checkmark icon.

(This is a moot point anyway if you're going to remove the need for a save button, as I understood your idea to solve #64. But I may have misunderstood that 🙈)

Alright :-) Well, I really don't like the disk symbol for saving (in fact I would prefer the floppy disk) ;-) But for now I will continue refactoring the edit and detail view. I will make a draft and then again I will ask for feedback. This way the discussion is obsolete anyway ;-)
