The problem

The described approach from the api-docs didn't work from me (find respose in browser console. But this approach worked: from https://signald.org/articles/captcha/

"Visit https://signalcaptchas.org/registration/generate and complete the captcha
The browser will prompt you to launch an external application, which you should decline.
An “Open Signal” link will appear below the captcha. Copy the link, can be used as your captcha token."
