Deploying a VM to an availability zone is not working.

I have changed the variable for my VM availability zone in Terraform, but this does not reflect in the portal . I need the VM to be in an availability zone so i can attach a PremiumV2 disk to it. We are using Azurerm as the terraform provider and the version is 2.40.0

Please how can i deploy a VM to an availability zone using our terraform.?
