this won't run on 10.15.7, i'm getting an error that says "this app needs to be updated"

Same here!
I tried to open it and it told me that "Apple can't open this file because it needs to check for malicious software, and to do that it needs to be updated." I am on version 11.4

Right click on the app, then click open
