Maybe keep taskbar visible all the time? #8

Related to the previous issue, where I'm having trouble getting my computer to show the taskbar: is there any reason not to have the taskbar visible all the time? It's not as distracting as a separate window, and it takes up so little space that it isn't likely that you'd be using that portion of the screen for something else.
