Spacial Data: S2 cell ID

Within InfluxDB a community user is trying to derive a S2 cell ID within a new column based on the lon and lat. Currently, data fusion does not support specific geo-based functions within SQL

Would it be possible to expand the scope of data fusion to include domain-specific logic like this? Simular functions currently exist in clickhouse: https://clickhouse.com/docs/en/sql-reference/functions/geo/s2

Describe alternatives you've considered

We could potentially look to include this within the influxdb code base but I thought this might benefit from a wider discussion based upon #7859
