Differing paths in SVG export compared to OSM data

While looking at rivers as SVGs downloaded with your amazing tool, I noticed that the path in the SVG differs from the object on OSM.

Represented differently in the SVG:

This makes it very difficult to fill in shapes, but for now I could not find out where this step happens. If you could give me a tip or explain it, I would be very thankful!
