A simple and delicious yeast-free bread.

Whole Wheat Flour | 1 ⅓ cup | 320 ml |
All Purpose Flour | ⅔ cup | 160 ml |
Salt | ½ tsp | 2.5 ml |
Baking Soda | 1 tsp | 5 ml |
Egg | 1 large | 1 large |
Honey | 3 tbsp | 45 ml |
Yogurt (Plain or Flavored) | 1 cup | 240 ml |
Ground Cardamom | 1 - 2 tsp | 5 - 10 ml |
- Preheat oven to 325 °F
- Mix the flours, salt, baking soda, and cardamom.
- Mix egg, honey, and yogurt.
- Mix the dry and wet together with a spoon until combined and sticky.
- Take out of mixing bowl and put on counter. Knead the dough as gently and as minimally as possible until a loaf is formed.
- Place dough into cast iron pan or skillet.
- Use a sharp knife to cut three parallel slices across the top.
- Bake until there is a nice hollow sound when the bottom of the loaf is tapped.
