Right now, any tasks without a start date but with a due date are displayed for the current day if the 'Task scheduling' option is set to the start date.
This is an asymmetry to the 'Task scheduling' option set to the due date, in which case tasks without a due date are shown on the start date; and it presents a problem because I can't both set when I aim to start a task and when it needs to have been completed, unless I already decide on a (potentially arbitrary) start date for every single task.
I think that the option 'Tasks without start or due dates' should be called 'Tasks without scheduling date' and its options should apply to those tasks lacking the date specified by the 'Task scheduling' option. In addition there should be a toggle for the date used to schedule tasks to optionally fall back to the other date.
This would both allow more customization than the current options and how they work, and make more sense (there is little reason a task without a scheduled start date but with any due date always needs to be completed immediately but one without a due date does not, which is what the current functionality embodies).

Hello @citriqa
You suggest renaming of existing option (it's "Tasks without start and due dates"), but actually this is NOT about your case.
As I also see, your real case is only about "Task scheduling"="Show tasks under due day".
Please look at the table in #4 And choose, for which of 16 tasks of the T1 table you need a new option?
And what values should that option (new setting) have?
