I have UC 2.2.4.7. on Ubuntu 22 wayland. I installed it with apt-get install and lunch it from the terminal.
I copy from external usb NTFS to external usb NTFS

Some of my folders' name finish by a space. eg "source/subfolder/whatever and more " notice the trailing space.

UC fail with "error with file" / "error" / "unable to create the folder"

some similar bug was fixed during years, 2.2.4.7 is years old.
Can you compile the last version and send me the bug report?
With debug version:

  • right click on system tray icon
  • save debug repport
    Like this I will be able to reproduce and fix

ok. I assumed a recent version would be available in apt-get. (also your higher tag is 2.0.0). anyway.

I managed to build from main, version 2.2.6.6
BTW, it may be obvious to most, but I had to install qttools5-dev-tools in order to build.

But I dont see debug report option in the systray nor the side dock.

given I renamed the folder which created the error, and I don't know how to create a folder with a trailing space, (it seem neither the file explorer nor the mv and mkdir let me. )
if you want close this issue and I will reopen one with a log (from the "write log" option) if i have again the issue with 2.2.6.6

thanks !!

Then recompil with Variable.h DEBUG uncommented
//#define ULTRACOPIER_DEBUG -> #define ULTRACOPIER_DEBUG
