Description
I would like to suggest to add a "getting started" guide to the docs.
I have collected some links for myself that I found useful, but they are not exhaustive. I am thinking we need something like "AI for Curators" page that covers
- The most standard tools (Claude code, Copilot, GitHub Copilot integration, DragonAI, and Goose?) with
- When should we use
- Links to overviews/tutorials
- A few words about mindset (AI as a team of junior curators that need technical docs etc for instructions; AI as agents that you can not only ask for information, but ask to develop plans that they can then go and execute; AI as personal (coding/curation) assistants (scribes etc).
In general a few well selected links "read this first" I think would be very helpful. Here are some, in no particular order, that I bookmarked from @cmungall and other peoples recommendations:
- General
- How to use AI right now: A quick guide: https://www.oneusefulthing.org/p/using-ai-right-now-a-quick-guide
- Claude Code
- Overview: https://docs.claude.com/en/docs/claude-code/overview
- Best practices: https://www.anthropic.com/engineering/claude-code-best-practices
- Multi-agent research system at Anthropic: https://www.anthropic.com/engineering/multi-agent-research-system (maybe TMD)
- Short course from DeepLearning.ai: https://www.deeplearning.ai/short-courses/claude-code-a-highly-agentic-coding-assistant/ (very useful!)
- Advanced
I envision this page to be something like: read this first, then this then this; for people that are just getting started. Maybe a few pointers for key content presented in the more detailed docs as well.
